AIN (Account Identification Number) is a unique 7-digit number that the Directorate of the Income Tax System provides to every account office. Each accounts office mandatorily needs to have an AIN while they submit Form 24G.
The following sections below include a detailed discussion about PAN AIN Registration.
Accounts offices or AO are government entities, including the Pay and Accounts Office, District, Cheque Drawing and Disbursing Office, and District Treasury Office. As mentioned, each AO requires an AIN for Form 24G submission. They can register their Account Information Number online. After successful registration, they can log in with the credentials.
You can also apply for an Accounts Identification Number offline through the application form for the allotment of AIN. Once the AIN is provided, it will be informed to the CDDO/PAO/DTO through email or by letter to the address available on the application form.
