Step 1
Visit the online portal of NSDL to begin the process and then choose ‘PAN’ under the ‘Services’ tab.

You need to visit the official website of UTIITSL to check this information.
Step 2
On the home page, you will find the ‘PAN Card Services’ tab. You need to select the ‘Track Your PAN Card’ option from there.

Now, another page will open where you need to enter your application coupon number first. However, here you can alternatively choose to provide your PAN as well.

Next, you will find options such as date of birth (for individuals), date of incorporation, partnership/trust deed, etc. for entities. Provide any of these details.

Enter the CAPTCHA as shown there to verify all the information.

By using your Aadhaar number, you can check your PAN card application status by following these simple steps:

Go to the website or e-filing portal of the Income Tax Department.

Under ‘Quick Links’, you will find several options. Select ‘Instant e-PAN’ from there.

Go to the official website of the IT Department to start this procedure.

Now navigate to the ‘Verify Your PAN’ tab, where you need to submit your permanent account number, mobile number and date of birth.

Apart from these traditional ways of tracking your PAN card status online, you can also use your phone number for the same. For that, you will have to type ‘NSDL PAN’ on your message box and then the 15-digit acknowledgement number and send this to 57575. However, make sure this is the same number that you provided while filling up your application form.
As per the norms, you can track your PAN card application status online after 24 hours of submitting your application. After visiting the UTIITSL and NSDL websites, individuals need to provide certain data to obtain such information within a few minutes.
In case you receive a message mentioning that your PAN application has gotten deleted, cross-check by checking your PAN card status online. You can use either the UTIITSL or NSDL website to check that. If you are not able to check any such information, it is better to get in touch with the officials of that particular department.
As per the rules of Income Tax Act, India, every citizen must possess a single PAN card. Keeping more than one PAN card will be considered illegal. Therefore, even if you receive multiple PAN cards, make sure to hand them over to the Income Tax Department.
If you have just applied for a PAN card and while checking its status, you can see ‘Application is inward’, it means that the department has received your PAN application. However, it is still under process, and you will have to wait for a significant amount of time to receive the document.
You can definitely use the printout of your PAN card application status for opening your savings bank account. Alternatively, you can also use the acknowledgement slip copy for the same. In this regard, you must know that to open a bank account, a PAN card is not mandatory. You can use other identity documents such as your Aadhaar card or fill out Form 60 for this purpose.
