The Aadhaar card is an important document required by every Indian as it serves as proof of identity, date of birth proof and residential address proof. It is required for filing income tax returns, opening a bank account and getting government subsidies. If you do not have an Aadhaar card already, you need to find an Aadhaar card enrollment centre nearby.
UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has authorised banks, post offices and government offices to carry out Aadhaar services. You can visit one of these places to enrol for a new Aadhaar card or apply for changes/corrections in your existing Aadhaar card details.
So, where can you find an Aadhaar enrolment centre? To know this and more, read the following sections.
UIDAI recently announced that people, whose Aadhaar cards were issued more than 10 years ago, can update their demographic details on myAadhaar portal for FREE from 15th March, 2023 to 30th June, 2023.
Enrolment centres are entities hired by Registrars to provide enrolment services and collect biometric and demographic data. These agencies must abide by the code of conduct, policies, guidelines set up by the authority. Enrolment agencies are responsible for the operations and maintenance of enrolment centres.
Aadhaar services are available across 35,000 banks, post offices, state government offices and BSNL centres. Permanent enrolment centres are established on a full-time basis to carry out enrolment and update services.
Temporary enrolment centres are operated by non-empanelled agencies and operate on a contractual basis. Most temporary centres have ceased operations nowadays as the government has shifted their operations to government or bank premises.
Aadhaar Seva Kendras or ASKs are a new type of enrolment centre that serves as a single one-stop destination for all Aadhaar-related services. These dedicated centres are open all 7 days of a week from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM IST.
ASKs allow residents to book an appointment for a queue-free experience and an automated token system for walk-in applicants. These centres have air-conditioners and special provisions for the elderly or the differently-abled.

Otherwise, you can select ‘Advanced Search’ to find enrolment centres using the PIN code or the name of your state.
Enter the PIN code of your location and click on ‘Search’.
When choosing to search with the ‘State’ option, select the name of your state, district, sub-district and city/town. Next, click on ‘Search’ to get the list of enrolment centres.
If you do not have an Aadhaar in your name, you can enrol for a new Aadhaar card by visiting a nearby enrolment centre. You need to carry proof of identity, age proof and proof of address to the centre, fill up the enrolment form and submit it to apply.
The following steps describe this process in more detail:

Collect an enrolment form from the Aadhaar enrolment centre and fill in all required details.
Submit this form along with supporting documents, including proof of identity, address, date of birth proof and proof of relationship. Make sure to bring original copies of these documents.
The operator at the centre will now collect your biometric inputs. This involves capturing your facial image, fingerprint impressions of all fingers, and iris scan.
Review the details to ensure that there are no mistakes. Check that your name, DOB, gender, and address are correct. Also, make sure that there are no initials or prefixes in your name.
Collect the acknowledgement slip with your 14-digit enrolment ID, which you can use to track your application status.
