Aadhaar card is a crucial identity document that is needed to avail of various government benefits, open bank accounts and much more. So, if you do not have this identification document, you could be in major trouble. In addition, if you are an Aadhaar holder, but the information in your Aadhaar card is wrong, it can create problems for you while availing certain government subsidies. But, it’s never too late!
You can apply for this identification document and also make corrections in your already existing Aadhaar card via the Aadhar card correction/enrolment form.

UIDAI recently announced that people, whose Aadhaar cards were issued more than 10 years ago, can update their demographic details on myAadhaar portal for FREE from 15th March, 2023 to 30th June, 2023.
As the name suggests, the enrolment form is simply an application form to apply for Aadhaar. Individuals who do not have this identification document can download the enrolment form from UIDAI’s website or visit their nearest Aadhaar centre to fill in the details.

Follow these steps to fill in the Aadhaar Enrolment form:
Step 1
Visit the nearest Aadhaar centre to obtain the form. You can also download this form from UIDAI’s website. It is a two-page form, where the first page contains blank fields, and the second page contains specific instructions.
Step 2
Fill in the empty fields with relevant information. To avoid mistakes, refer to the instruction sheet.
Step 3
Open UIDAI’s official website to find the nearest enrolment centre. After locating the centre, book an appointment.
Step 4
Visit the centre on your appointment date with essential documents.
Step 5
Once your documents are approved, a representative will collect your biometric details and photographs.
Step 6
After completion, you will receive an acknowledgement slip, including a 14-digit enrolment number. You can use this number to track your Aadhaar application status.
Upon verification, you will receive your Aadhaar card via post at your registered address.

In simple terms, there are three approaches for Aadhaar enrolment – through documents, HoF or introducer.
As the name implies, this form is required for making corrections to the information in an already issued Aadhaar card.

Follow these steps to change Aadhaar details:
Step 1
Visit UIDAI’s official website and download the correction form.
Step 2
Enter the 12-digit Aadhaar number and enter the captcha to proceed.
Step 3
Select the OTP tab and enter the one time password sent to your registered mobile number. Click on submit.
Step 4
Choose the fields you wish to rectify and update them.
Step 5
Upload scanned documents as proof of the rectifications that you made.
Step 6
You will receive a URN (Updated Request Number).
Upon completion, take a printout of the modified form for future reference.

To make corrections in these fields, you need to produce necessary documents that serve as proof of identification, address and date of birth.
Though it is easy to fill out the Aadhaar card correction/enrolment form, there are a few points that you should keep in mind. Find them below:
Keep in mind that the representative will verify each and every detail carefully. So, do not try to provide any false information.
As a responsible Indian citizen, it is your duty to provide correct details in the Aadhaar card correction/enrolment form. Ensure utmost accuracy while filling the forms and keep the required documents handy to avoid any hassle.
Without a registered mobile number, you can rectify Aadhaar details only through the offline method. For this, you will have to visit your nearest Aadhaar centre and fill up the correction form. Remember to carry scanned copies of the documents and attach them to your form as needed.
To send your corrections through post, you will have to download the correction form, fill it up and attach the required documents. After this, send the form along with the documents to this address – Post Box No. 10, Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh – 480001, India or Post Box No. 99, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad – 500034, India.
You will receive the corrected Aadhaar card in 10 to 15 days. The Aadhaar letter and the updates are sent to your registered address when the rectifications are verified. For email ID or mobile number update, you will receive a notification on your current email ID/mobile number.
You will receive the letter in 90 days. It is typically sent via ordinary post at the registered address you provided while filling the enrolment form. After Aadhaar generation, you can choose to download the electronic copy of your Aadhaar card (e-Aadhaar) by visiting the official website of UIDAI.
If you do not receive the letter, contact the UIDAI contact centre with your enrolment number. Alternatively, you can also check your enrolment status on the official website of UIDAI by entering your enrolment number.
