Car manufacturer Tata Motors has claimed it has received over 10,000 bookings for the Tata Tiago EV in less than 24 hours, the Mint reported Tuesday. The electric vehicle opened for bookings on Monday, as per the report.
“Inspired by the customers’ interest and to encourage mass adoption of EVs in the country further, Tata Motors has extended the special introductory pricing, starting from ₹8.49 Lakh (ex-showroom) to an additional 10,000 customers,” the report added.
Interested buyers can book the new Tata Tiago EV via its website or they can also visit authorised Tata Motors dealerships. Customers need to pay an upfront amount of ₹21,000 to book the electric car, the Mint report mentioned.
Deliveries to Commence from January 2023 Onwards
The company also stated the deliveries of Tiago EV will commence from January 2023 onwards. “However, the time, date along with the variant and colour chosen, shall determine the delivery date of the vehicle,” the Mint report added.
Two Battery Pack Options – 24 kWh and 19.2 kWh
Tata Tiago EV has two battery pack options. “It gets a battery pack of 24 kWh with an MIDC range of 315 km. There is also a smaller battery pack with 19.2 kWh providing a range of 250 km. Moreover, the hatchback gets four charging options. It can be charged using a 15 A socket at home, a 3.3 kW AC charger, 7.2 kW AC home charger, and DC Fast charger as well,” Zee News reported Tuesday.
“The hatchback has a power output of 55kW and a peak torque of 114 Nm. This results in an acceleration from 0-100 kmph in 5.7 seconds. There are also drive modes and Regen modes for added battery range,” the report added.
