A Permanent Account Number (PAN) is a crucial document that is required for several financial transactions. Considering that you could be carrying this document around with you all the time, the odds of losing it are high.
If your PAN card is misplaced, stolen or damaged, you can easily apply for a reprint of your PAN card. Go through the following sections to find out how to get a duplicate PAN card.
A duplicate PAN card is a reprinted version of the original one. When an individual loses or misplaces their original PAN card, they can apply for a duplicate version. It is important to note that an individual can only apply for a replacement of their lost PAN card. It is illegal for anyone to own more than one PAN card.
When an individual misplaces their PAN card, they can submit a duplicate PAN card application. To obtain a duplicate PAN Card online or offline, follow the steps below:
The applicant must follow the steps described below:
After successful processing of the PAN application form, the physical card is generated. It will be dispatched to your registered address within 2 weeks after the I-T department receives it.
If a person loses their PAN card or it gets stolen, they might apply for a duplicate PAN card.
In case the PAN card gets damaged and the printed information is not clearly visible, the cardholder could consider getting a duplicate PAN card.
Provided the information on the PAN card needs to be changed or updated, an individual can consider applying for a re-issue or reprint of PAN.
Any individual, Hindu Undivided Families (HUFs), and businesses can apply for a PAN card reprint or re-issue. However, only individuals can authorise and file their own duplicate PAN card applications.
