Baal Aadhaar Card is a unique identification card introduced by UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) for children below the age of 5 years. It’s a blue-coloured aadhaar card that serves as an ID proof of the child and is linked to the aadhaar card of one of the parents or legal guardians of the child. The Baal Aadhaar Card contains the child’s name, photograph, gender, date of birth, and the aadhaar number of the parent or legal guardian. Unlike regular aadhaar card, where biometric data collection is mandatory at the time of enrolment, no biometric data is collected for Baal Aadhaar till the child attains 5 years of age. Note that Baal Aadhaar Card is an optional document, and parents or legal guardians can apply for it voluntarily.
