How to Submit the Aadhaar Correction Form?
If you wish to make any changes to your Aadhaar card, you have to fill up and submit the Aadhaar correction form. It is the same form that is used for applying for a new Aadhaar card. You can submit it both online and offline.

1. Online
To submit the Aadhaar correction form online, you need to have your mobile number linked with your Aadhaar. Here are the steps you have to follow:
- Step 1: Visit UIDAI’s official website.

- Step 3: Tap on ‘Send OTP’.
- Step 4: Provide this OTP you receive on your registered mobile number and select the ‘Login’ option.
- Step 5: On the next page, two options are available. You can update your address via Address Proof. Alternatively, you can choose to update your Address using a secret code. You can use the second option if you possess an Address Validation Letter. That said, keep in mind that the UIDAI has suspended the service of changing addresses in Aadhaar through the Address Validation Letter till further orders.
- Step 6: When you choose the first option, your current address will appear along with an option to provide the new address.
- Step 7: Once you have given the necessary details, click on ‘Preview’.
- Step 8: Now, upload the scanned image of the original proof of address document.
- Step 9: After you upload this scanned copy, you will get an Update Request Number. You can use this number to track your Aadhaar card correction status.
2. Offline
Here’s how you can submit an Aadhaar correction request offline through any Aadhaar Enrolment Centre:
- Step 1: Visit the nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Centre and ask for the correction form. You may also take out a printed copy of the online form.
- Step 2: Carry the original copies of the necessary documents.
- Step 3: When you submit the form, the attendant will verify all necessary details. Once done, you will get an EID as an acknowledgement which you may use for tracking the progress of your correction application.
Things To Remember During Aadhaar Correction
You must keep the following factors in mind while filling and submitting the Aadhaar correction form:
- You’ll have to use capital letters only while filling up the form.
- The Aadhaar enrolment form is the same as the correction form. Make sure to fill up only these fields: 28-digit EID which contains your enrolment number along with the date and time stamp.
- Make sure to provide updated details only.
- You must provide the complete address while applying for a correction. Note that the updated Aadhaar card will be delivered to this address.
- You need to submit valid supporting documents with updated data. For instance, if you wish to update the address, ensure proof of address documents have the updated address.
- In case you do not have original documents with you, you can provide a photocopy of the specific document as attested by a gazetted officer or notary.
- The application might be rejected if you provide any incorrect information.
Documents Required For Aadhaar Card Correction
