Since its introduction, the Aadhaar card has proven to be a reliable and easy-to-use tool to authenticate the identity of individuals.
No resident can have a duplicate Aadhaar number because it is linked with his/her biometric information (photograph, fingerprints and iris scan). This futuristic and transparent verification method eliminates fake or duplicate identities. To further help people validate Aadhaar card details, UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) offers the Aadhaar card verification service.
But, what is the purpose of verifying an Aadhaar number? Read along to know this.
Latest Update
UIDAI recently announced that people, whose Aadhaar cards were issued more than 10 years ago, can update their demographic details on myAadhaar portal for FREE from 15th March, 2023 to 30th June, 2023.
This service allows individual cardholders and service providers to validate an Aadhaar card to see if it is active or not. You can also use this facility to view details such as gender, age, state of issuance and registered mobile number.
Aadhaar card verification not only shows the legitimacy of an Aadhaar number but also tells if the details on it are correct. The typographical or printing error may result in wrong information printed on your Aadhaar card. Verifying these details allows you to get corrections as soon as possible.
Service providers such as telecom operators and hotels can use this facility to verify and authenticate the Aadhaar details of their clients. This facility also allows banks, insurance companies, and fund houses to complete KYC verification.
