Your PAN card application will not be processed unless you furnish address proof, identity proof, and proof of age/date of birth. The following table showcases the list of acceptable documents required for a PAN card application in India for an individual applicant (who is an Indian citizen). The documents furnished must clearly establish the applicant’s identity, address, and date of birth:

Every business entity or company must apply for a PAN card to operate in India. Based on the type of entity, the documents needed for the PAN card may differ. The following table highlights the list of acceptable documents for each entity:

For PAN correction or name change, individuals or entities must present the following documents:
-PAN card copy or PAN allotment letter issued by the Income Tax Department
-In case of a name change, married individuals must furnish a marriage certificate or copy of their spouse’s passport
-Individuals changing their names for any other purpose need to present publication of name change in an official gazette, or a name change certificate from a gazetted officer
-Non-individuals should submit a revised registration certificate, agreement or deed
If you opt for an online PAN card application process, you need not submit original documents. You must upload copies of such documents to complete the application process. However, in the case of offline PAN application applicants need to carry the original documents for verification.

For an Indian communication address, one needs to pay Rs. 93 (excluding Goods and Services Tax) as PAN application fees. On the other hand, for a foreign communication address, Rs. 864 needs to be paid for obtaining PAN.
