Instances like receiving an Aadhaar card with inaccurate personal details, rejection of Aadhaar card application, etc., are pretty common. Considering how necessary this document is to carry out any kind of official work, such issues may disrupt the entire process. Fortunately, UIDAI has come up with its ‘grievance redressal system’ that helps cardholders to get rid of these problems.
This article lists out the 5 common problems with Aadhaar card and how to solve them. Read on!
It is the most common problem Indian residents face. Thankfully, you can solve this easily by following these steps:
Linking Aadhaar with PAN is mandatory. However, if there’s a mismatch of name in Aadhaar and PAN, you can change the details either on Aadhaar or PAN. If you want to make the corrections in your Aadhaar card, you will have to visit your nearest Aadhaar enrolment centre for it. Make sure to provide the necessary documents and collect the acknowledgement slip after that. In case it is the PAN card data that requires modification, here are the steps you need to follow for making changes:
You need to send all these to the official address of NSDL and wait for a few days to get the changes done.
In case you lose such a vital document, you can use UIDAI’s ‘Reprint Aadhaar Card’ facility and get yourself a duplicate Aadhaar card that is considered equally valid. The process to obtain a duplicate Aadhaar card is mentioned below:
Once done, you will receive an SRN which you can use to track your Aadhaar reprint status.
Biometric authentication is a step UIDAI carries out to check an applicant’s identity. It involves iris scan, fingerprint scan, etc. However, if you find any issues in your Aadhaar biometrics authentication, you can follow these steps to fix them:
Note that to make use of this service, you need to pay a nominal fee of Rs. 50. Apart from this issue, Aadhaar card holders also struggle with demographic errors in their documents. In this case, too, one has to visit an Aadhaar enrolment centre and take help from the UIDAI officials to fix it.
In case your Aadhaar card has not been delivered to the right address, you can visit a nearby Aadhaar centre and provide your Enrolment number. You may also visit the UIDAI website and check your Aadhaar status.

It is a special form of the Aadhaar card where only the last four digits of the Aadhaar number is visible. The first 8 digits remain concealed. Masking your Aadhaar improves security and reduces the risk of fraudulent activities.
