The full form of IMPS is (Immediate Payment Service) which is a real-time interbank electronic fund transfer service. It allows customers to instantly transfer funds from their bank account to any other bank account 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including weekends and holidays. Mobile banking, internet banking, ATMs, and bank branches can all be used to initiate IMPS transactions. To facilitate fund transfers, IMPS employs a unique identifier known as the Mobile Money Identifier (MMID) or Account Number and Indian Financial System Code (IFSC).
