Check How To Deactivate PAN Card Online (Step-by-Step Tutorial)
Go to NSDL’s online portal to start the PAN card deactivation process. A form looking like ? will appear.
Navigate to the ‘Application Type’ section. Select ‘Changes or Correction in Existing PAN Data’ from there.
Choose the category you belong to from the dropdown menu. Then, fill out the application form by providing all the necessary details.
Acknowledge by clicking on the checkbox. Enter the CAPTCHA and hit ‘Submit’. You will get a ‘Token Number’. Note down the token number. Click on ‘Continue with PAN Application Form’.
Submit the form and e-Sign it using Aadhaar (optional). Mention the PAN card you would like to retain and the card or cards you would like to surrender/cancel/deactivate.
Submit the application form. Make the online payment of Rs.96(Rs. 85 for the application + 12.36 percent Service Tax) using a debit/credit card/net banking.
That’s it! Your PAN card cancellation is complete. You can check the status by visiting the official Income Tax India e-filing website and clicking on ‘Know your PAN/TAN/AO’.
